It uses OpenAI's Whisper models running locally. The default Fast mode is quick and works well for most files; Accurate mode trades speed for higher accuracy on capable desktop devices. For the highest accuracy or professional use, try PodText.
Does it work on my phone?
Yes, for shorter files in Fast mode. Accurate mode and long files work best on a desktop browser, since transcription is limited by your device's memory and processing power.
Do I need to install anything?
No installation. The first time you transcribe, your browser downloads the speech-to-text model — after that it's cached and reused.
What languages are supported?
Whisper can auto-detect the spoken language, or you can pick one manually from the language list before starting.
